Sei Whales are among the least studied of the baleen whales, but we do know a few things about them. They are powerful swimmers, capable of sustaining a speed of 10 m.p.h. (17 km/h) for thousands of miles. Like Minke Whales, they breach only rarely, and hardly ever show their flukes above water. They feed at the surface, like most other baleen whales. Even when they dive, they usually stay within a few feet of the surface.
